About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in New Iberia, Louisiana. You will support pharmacy operations while gaining experience in clinical services and patient care. This role involves working on-site and requires a commitment to obtaining necessary professional credentials.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare like immunizations.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial performance.
- Engage with customers, resolve issues, and share service best practices.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and over-the-counter products.
- Maintain operations according to regulations and company policies.
- Manage pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims and assist with 3rd party audits.
- Coordinate with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to the start date.
- Pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy, to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
