About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Independence, Kansas. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations, patient care, and clinical services. This role involves a mix of direct patient interaction and administrative pharmacy tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with financial and inventory optimization.
- Engage customers to resolve issues and model service best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems and propose productivity enhancements.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims.
- Follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services including immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Stay current on pharmacy and healthcare developments.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
