About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Intern Grad based in Conway, Arkansas. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity. This is a rolling position focused on supporting pharmacy operations, patient care, and team management.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support the efficient day-to-day workflow of the pharmacy.
- Assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing financials, managing inventory, and improving the customer experience.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform retail and clinical services, including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates according to regulations, company policies, and standards.
- Manage the opening and closing of the pharmacy and handle shift change duties.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems.
- Process insurance claims accurately to prevent payment rejections.
- Develop relationships with the local medical community and participate in community outreach.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- To be a certified immunizer or a willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
