About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. This role focuses on patient care, medication management, and pharmacy workflow efficiency. You will assist the pharmacy manager in maintaining financial health, inventory management, and delivering high quality customer service.
What you'll do#
- Consult with customers on the effective use of medications, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Help the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment issues.
- Build relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist with opening, closing, and shift change duties.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or the willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
