About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Intern Grad based in East Lyme, Connecticut. The role is on-site and full-time. You will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while gaining experience in clinical and retail services. This is a paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage.
- Ensure the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial optimization.
- Engage with customers to offer assistance and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Perform clinical and wellness services including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Process insurance claims accurately.
- Communicate with medical providers to clarify dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff training and hiring tasks.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a certified immunizer or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
