About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern Grad role is a full-time position based in Whitehall, Michigan. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations, provide patient consultations, and assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing inventory and financial performance. This role involves direct patient interaction and collaboration with medical providers to ensure safe medication usage.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Perform preventive healthcare services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Ensure the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial optimization.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and answer questions in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, and automation.
- Process insurance claims and communicate with medical providers regarding prescriptions.
- Assist with staff training, coaching, and development.
- Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer status or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
