About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy in Portland. This role focuses on delivering patient care, managing pharmacy workflows, and assisting the pharmacy manager with administrative and clinical tasks. You will work on-site in a retail environment, helping customers with their health needs while gaining hands-on experience in pharmaceutical services.
What you'll do#
- Consult with patients on medication usage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and contraindications.
- Perform clinical services, including administering immunizations and flu shots.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, and verification of prescriptions to ensure they meet regulatory and company standards.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff training, hiring, and performance coaching.
- Identify ways to improve pharmacy financials, inventory management, and overall customer experience.
- Resolve insurance claim issues and maintain communication with local medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Stay updated on pharmacy systems and technology to support both staff and customers.
What you'll need#
- A commitment to obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Willingness to secure pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Must be a certified immunizer or willing to complete certification within 90 days of hire.
