About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. You will work directly with patients, manage medication workflows, and assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing store performance. This is a full-time, on-site position in Virginia Beach.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, and verification of prescribed medications according to regulatory and company standards.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, and staff training.
- Handle insurance claim processing and resolve customer issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures for the pharmacy.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, and automation tools.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of your hire date.
- Status as a certified immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of your hire date.
