About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Mechanicsville, Virginia. You will support pharmacy operations while gaining clinical experience in a retail environment. This role involves a mix of patient care, operational oversight, and team leadership.
What you'll do#
- Consult with patients on medication usage, side effects, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform clinical services including immunizations and flu shots.
- Manage the compounding, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance, and asset protection.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Help with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Model customer service best practices and resolve patient concerns.
- Maintain proficiency with pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
