About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern Grad position focuses on providing pharmacy consulting services and supporting efficient pharmacy operations. You will work on-site in Huntington Station, New York, assisting the pharmacy manager with daily tasks, financial optimization, and inventory management.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Deliver retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and coaching.
- Develop relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.
- Support the pharmacy workflow and help identify ways to improve financial performance and inventory control.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or the willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
