About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. You will work directly with customers and healthcare providers to ensure patients receive their medications safely and effectively. This role involves balancing clinical responsibilities with operational tasks to help the pharmacy run efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage guidance and drug interaction information.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Offer preventive healthcare services such as immunizations.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and medication adherence.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and interactions.
- Support the pharmacy manager in optimizing financials, inventory management, and pharmacy workflow.
- Analyze pharmacy performance data and key performance indicators.
- Assist in staff training, performance coaching, and fostering teamwork.
- Maintain pharmacy systems knowledge and propose productivity enhancements.
- Engage customers to resolve issues and ensure a positive experience.
- Participate in community outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer status or a willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
