About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in New Port Richey, Florida. You will support the pharmacy manager with daily operations, customer service, and clinical tasks. This role involves working on-site and focuses on both the technical aspects of medication management and building relationships with patients and the local medical community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Offer preventive healthcare services such as immunizations.
- Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial optimization.
- Engage customers by greeting them, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and automation.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff training and participate in community outreach activities.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with all regulations and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer status or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
