About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting pharmacists and the pharmacy team. You will work under supervision to follow state and federal regulations while gaining experience in pharmacy operations and customer service. This role is a full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Process, fill, and dispense prescriptions.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering help with products or services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care services such as medication therapy management.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department appearance and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Register sales on the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
