About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to learn the daily operations of the pharmacy while supporting the team in delivering patient care. This role focuses on developing the skills and knowledge required to function effectively as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily tasks and patient care services.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient records, verify drug information, and process prescriptions.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide assistance with products.
- Handle sales transactions at the cash register and manage inventory, including ordering and stocking medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, including those from physician offices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
