About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and provide care to patients. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and professional habits needed to succeed as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists and the pharmacy team in providing a positive patient experience.
- Use pharmacy systems to access patient information and process prescriptions.
- Perform tasks related to entering, filling, and dispensing medications.
- Engage with customers by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering assistance with products.
- Help manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and register sales at the point of sale.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within the scope of your intern license.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- This position is located in Waverly, Iowa.
- This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship.
- The hourly pay range for this role is $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on your skills, education, and experience.
