About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting pharmacists and the pharmacy team. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, process prescriptions, and support patient care services. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations, customer service, and regulatory compliance while you work toward your career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Support the pharmacy team with prescription processing, including entry, filling, and third-party tasks.
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and stocking supplies.
- Operate the cash register for sales transactions.
- Maintain the pharmacy department's cleanliness and organization.
- Manage incoming telephone calls that do not require pharmacist intervention.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement protocols.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
