About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining hands-on experience in clinical and retail services. This role focuses on patient interaction, medication management, and supporting the pharmacy team to ensure efficient and safe service. You will work on-site in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with financial and inventory optimization.
- Engage customers and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and preventive healthcare services.
- Maintain pharmacy operations in accordance with regulations and company policies.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Perform immunizations, flu shots, and other wellness services.
- Develop relationships with the local medical community.
- Assist with staff training, performance monitoring, and coaching.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
