About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by learning and applying clinical and operational practices. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient care and maintain pharmacy standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to access patient and drug information.
- Process, fill, and dispense prescriptions.
- Engage with patients to provide assistance, answer questions, and resolve issues.
- Help with patient care services, including counseling and health screenings.
- Manage inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage telephone inquiries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
