About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering patient care and maintaining pharmacy operations. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, process prescriptions, and provide customer service while working under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role is designed to help you build practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions according to company procedures.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide assistance.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Perform patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales at the cash terminal.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
