About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support patient care and pharmacy operations. This role focuses on learning pharmacy workflows, state and federal regulations, and customer service standards. You will assist the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in providing patient care and services, including medication therapy management, blood pressure monitoring, and patient counseling.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient or drug information.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register and resolve customer questions or issues.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies regarding pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
