About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by assisting with daily operations and patient care. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to learn pharmacy procedures and provide service to customers. This is a part-time, paid position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Greet customers, answer their questions, and help resolve issues.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services within your state scope of practice.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle customer transactions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean and organized.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies, including the Quality Improvement Program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
