About the role#
This is a paid Pharmacy Intern position based in Aurora, Colorado. You will work on-site under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role supports the pharmacy team in daily operations while you continue your education.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient and drug information.
- Process prescriptions and handle related sales at the cash register.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care, including medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete required training to stay current on healthcare and pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and weekends.
