About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with prescription processing, including entering, filling, and third-party tasks.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and helping them find products.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Handle non-clinical telephone calls and assist with administrative tasks.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete required training and stay current on pharmacy practices and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
