About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations while learning to provide patient care in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register and assist with patient care services within your scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and all company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- This position is located in Boutte, Louisiana.
- The role is on-site and part-time.
- This is a paid internship.
