About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by assisting with patient care, prescription processing, and daily operations. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn pharmacy procedures, help with inventory, and provide service to customers. This role is designed to help you gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting while following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Help deliver patient care services, such as medication therapy management and counseling, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and checking shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle phone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete required training to stay current on pharmacy developments and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
