About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will work under supervision to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting while adhering to state and federal regulations. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical support.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with the practice of pharmacy, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to provide a positive experience.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within the state scope of practice.
- Manage pharmacy inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
- Process sales transactions on the cash register.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow all company policies, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas.

- Employment type: Part-time.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.
