About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in providing patient care. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, process prescriptions, and follow state and federal regulations. This role is designed to help you gain practical experience while working under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support patient care services, including medication therapy management and counseling, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement protocols.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
