About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will follow state and federal regulations while learning the policies and procedures required to function as a future pharmacist. This position is part-time and on-site in Riverton, Utah.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Help deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory tasks like ordering, unpacking, and checking pharmaceutical shipments.
- Use the cash register to process sales and handle customer transactions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
