About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while adhering to state, federal, and company policies. This role supports the daily functions of the pharmacy department and helps prepare you for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and access patient or drug information.
- Assist pharmacists with patient care services, such as blood pressure screenings and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy operations, including entering and filling prescriptions, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training to stay current on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Ocala, Florida.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time role with a rolling term.
- Compensation ranges from $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, based on skills, education, and experience.
