About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support the pharmacy manager in daily operations, patient care, and team leadership. This role focuses on transitioning pharmacy services from transactional tasks to interpersonal patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and general wellness.
- Perform clinical tasks such as drug therapy reviews, medication management, and immunizations.
- Ensure the accurate compounding, dispensation, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist with pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial performance tracking.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment issues.
- Conduct virtual product reviews and support Central Pharmacy Operations.
- Partner with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff training, coaching, and hiring.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
