About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and inventory management while learning company policies and state regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide a positive experience.
- Perform duties related to entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Help deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage inventory by unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle register sales and answer non-clinical telephone calls.
- Complete all required training and special assignments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
