About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience with pharmacy operations, state and federal regulations, and customer service standards. This is a part-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain the pharmacy department appearance and stock levels.
- Register sales at the cash register.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and follow the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
