About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical tasks. This is a part-time, paid position based in Quinton, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and build relationships.
- Support patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle telephone inquiries.
- Adhere to company policies, including Good Faith Dispensing and error reporting protocols.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
