About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist with daily operations and patient care. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while learning to follow state and federal regulations. This role involves both operational tasks and direct customer interaction to support the pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions by entering data, handling third-party billing, and filling orders.
- Assist pharmacists with patient care services, including counseling and health screenings.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide assistance with products.
- Operate the cash register and manage financial transactions.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Complete all required training to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
