About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support the pharmacy team in daily operations, patient care, and clinical services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in North Augusta, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers and counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, pharmacy financials, and optimizing the customer experience.
- Open and close the pharmacy and manage shift change duties.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims and resolve customer issues.
- Collaborate with the local medical community and assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
- A commitment to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
