About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support patient care, pharmacy operations, and customer service. This role is designed to help you develop the skills necessary for a career as a pharmacist while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing patient care and services within your state scope of practice.
- Process prescriptions by using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Perform tasks such as entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy operations, including inventory management, ordering, and maintaining department cleanliness.
- Manage cash register transactions and handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.
