About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, patient interaction, and clinical services in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Obtain patient and drug information while processing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Support patient counseling and health services like medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory by ordering, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales at the point of sale.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow all safety and dispensing policies.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
