About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern position based in Shorewood, Illinois. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations, patient care, and clinical services. This role is paid and follows a rolling application schedule.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers and counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Assist with the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of medications while following regulatory guidelines.
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial performance under the guidance of the pharmacy manager.
- Engage with customers to offer assistance, resolve issues, and promote wellness services.
- Perform clinical services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Process insurance claims and collaborate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Participate in community outreach and assist with staff training and hiring.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems and stay current on professional education requirements.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
