About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in complying with state and federal regulations while learning the daily operations of a pharmacy. This is a part-time, on-site position located in Cypress, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist in entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and helping them locate products.
- Deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and checking shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
- Complete all required training and maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
