About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. This role focuses on learning pharmacy operations, patient care, and customer service standards while working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will support the team in daily tasks to ensure the pharmacy runs effectively and safely.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including processing prescriptions and managing inventory.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and helping resolve issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient information and handle prescription data.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Process sales at the register and handle phone calls that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours.
Location & details#
- Location: Bradenton, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid, with an hourly range of $19.50 to $31.00 depending on your skills, education, and experience.
