About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to support the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail environment. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist with patient care and pharmacy operations in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role is a paid, on-site position with a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and access patient or drug information.
- Manage prescription tasks including entering, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Greet patients, answer questions, and resolve customer issues.
- Handle telephone calls and assist customers with locating products.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and order.
- Register sales on the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
