About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will assist the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support pharmacists in daily operations, learn to navigate pharmacy systems, and provide care to patients. This role focuses on developing the skills needed for a future career in pharmacy by following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists and other team members with day-to-day operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and offer assistance.
- Deliver patient care services within your state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management or blood pressure screenings.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales at the cash register.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
