About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while assisting the team with prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in a pharmacy program to learn and apply pharmacy policies and best practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Deliver patient care and services within your state scope of practice, such as patient counseling or health screenings.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls and register sales at the point of sale.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and maintain knowledge of pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
