About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position focuses on learning pharmacy operations, patient care, and customer service standards while assisting the pharmacy team with daily tasks in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient and drug information.
- Process, fill, and dispense prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products or services.
- Resolve customer questions and issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services, such as medication therapy management or health screenings, within your scope of practice.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on skills, education, and experience.
