About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team while learning the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. This role involves assisting pharmacists with patient care, processing prescriptions, and maintaining department standards. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional setting while following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and team members with daily pharmacy tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient and drug information.
- Process prescriptions and handle sales at the register.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and offer assistance.
- Help with patient counseling and health services like medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Keep the Pharmacy Department clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Handle incoming telephone calls.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
