About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. This role involves gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering and filling prescriptions.
- Help with patient counseling and health services like medication therapy management.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls and assist with inventory management, such as ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
