About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position focuses on learning pharmacy operations, patient care, and customer service standards while supporting the pharmacy team in daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to provide a helpful experience.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Handle cash register transactions and assist with inventory management, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow all company policies, including the Good Faith Dispensing policy and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Handle non-pharmacist telephone calls and assist with other assigned tasks to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
