About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, procedures, and customer service standards to prepare for a future career in the field. You will assist the pharmacy team while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Process prescriptions and obtain patient and drug information using pharmacy systems.
- Deliver customer support by greeting patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Help customers locate OTC products and handle non-pharmacist telephone calls.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and stocking supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Assist in delivering patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Register sales and handle cash transactions.
- Report prescription errors and follow the Quality Improvement Program.
- Adhere to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Complete required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
