About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy systems, regulatory compliance, and customer service in a retail environment. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient health services.
What you'll do#
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient data.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care and health services within the state scope of practice.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide a helpful experience.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department's cleanliness, organization, and supply levels.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Process sales transactions on the cash register.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
