About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, adhering to regulatory standards, and providing service to customers in a retail setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy software to retrieve patient and drug information.
- Greet customers, answer their questions, and help resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
- Process sales at the cash register.
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers in delivering patient care services.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace while completing all required training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
